Had been/am a member of Doctoral Committee and Board of Postgraduate Studies, Committees of Courses of different universities including BUET and Rajshahi University; Examiner of Dhaka University and Rajshahi University. Considerable experience in designing and developing the curricula and syllabi of different courses at various universities both at home and abroad. These courses include both science and engineering disciplines.
Dr. A. A. Z. Ahmad was born on November 24, 1938. He did his B.Sc(Hons) and M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He carried out research work in High Energy Physics at the Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine London, U.K, under the supervision of Prof. Sir C. C. Butler, FRS and obtained the Ph. D. degree in 1965. He also carried out research work in theoretical nuclear physics, neutron physics, lattice dynamics and crystal field level splitting.
a) As Chairman of the Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO) from July 1989 to November 1995 I discharged my duties as the Head of the organization for all administrative matters regarding policy decisions in administration, planning and development, budgeting etc. b) Secretary of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) from October 1977 to March 1979. I also worked as Director (Physical Sciences) and Director (Planning) in BAEC. c) Registrar, University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka from 1996 to 2001. d) Chairperson, Department of Mathematics & Natural Sciences, BRAC University till date.
About sixty scientific papers & reports in reputed international and local journals in the fields of High Energy Physics & Elementary Particles, Nuclear Physics, Neutron Scattering and Lattice Dynamics, Crystal Field Level Splitting, Remote Sensing & GIS.
