Dr. Mohamed Foysol Chowdhury has been appointed as Director, R & D and designated as Professor for BRAC University with effect from September 01, 2017.
Prior to joining BRAC and BRACU, over the last eight years Dr. Chowdhury worked for Cambridge CMOS Sensors (University of Cambridge (UCAM) spin-off - now part of ams AG) where he held various senior roles and most recently was appointed as Director of R&D Projects.
Dr. Chowdhury has been working in collaboration with UCAM academics and researchers on technology transfers to industry for more than twelve years. In his decorated career spanning more than twenty-five years, he has experience of working with various large multi-national companies and research/academic organisations including University of Warwick, Cambridge Semiconductor Ltd.(UCAM spin-off), Tiny Visions Ltd., Micron Europe Ltd., LSI Logic, University of Kent, University of Essex and Marconi Defence Systems Ltd.
Dr. Chowdhury received his Ph.D in Electronic Systems Engineering (thesis on Artificial Intelligence/Expert Systems) from University of Essex. He perused his MSc. in Information Engineering from City University, London and BSc. in Electronic Engineering from University of Essex.
Dr. Chowdhury grew up in Colchester, UK, where he attended schools and college for his early educations.
